What to ask before locksmith work starts
A short, specific conversation makes arrival estimates and prices easier to compare.

- Who will attend, and when?Give the full postcode. Ask for the business or locksmith name and a live arrival estimate.
- What is the complete price?Confirm call-out, labour, VAT, likely parts and any evening, weekend or bank-holiday charge.
- What could change that amount?Ask which diagnosis or part would change the price and require your approval.
- What method will be tried first?For entry, ask what will be attempted before drilling or replacing the lock.
- What part will be fitted?Get the make, type, security specification and number of keys before replacement.
- What will I receive?Ask for an itemised receipt plus the guarantee on parts and workmanship.
